Graham Korn

Graham Korn works almost exclusively in soft pastels, taking much of his inspiration from his love of Scotland, its history and buildings, its landscapes and beautiful coastline.

Whether it's a close up of waterlilies on a pond, the winter sun on an Ayrshire cottage or the broad sweep of the Clyde reflecting the paddle steamer Waverley, Graham's drawings celebrate the extraordinary beauty of everyday life.

Graham has not always worked as a professional artist. In a former life he was a local authority lawyer, and retired in 2007 to focus on drawing and music. Graham has been engaged in art since he was a boy, and took up working with soft pastels some 30 years ago, developing his own highly finished style.

Graham says: "I want to present a variety of styles and subjects in this exhibition rather than focusing on one approach. Since I retired from my day-job, I have more time to look around me and more time to draw what I see; it's a great life!"
