Biography

Graham Korn

Graham Korn is an artist working mainly in pastels– he used to be a solicitor, slaving away for a local authority in the West of Scotland. He’s much happier now.

Aged 50-something, Graham has been engaged in art since boyhood, and has been working with soft pastels since 1987, developing an unorthodox, more finished style which reveres colour and produces paintings rather than drawings.

His passion for Scots history, culture and landscape largely dictates his focus in art and he has no difficulty in finding exceptional subjects both locally in Ayrshire, and further afield. Scotland provides no shortage of exceptional subject matter in terms of seascapes, landscapes and beautiful buildings.

People and nature interact; a Kilmaurs street scene shows an historic courthouse and children playing on a low wall; a man whistles to his dog in the grounds of a medieval fortress; a visiting French family wanders down an ancient street in Culross….

Graham regularly produces commissions, including portraits in pastel, which always delight his clients.
